One of Big Fish Games’ popular hidden object franchises is the Hidden Expedition series. I did a little bit of work on the first game, Hidden Expedition: Titanic, but I did more work on the second game, Hidden Expedition: Everest.
Most of the programming in HEE was done by my future brother-in-law. However, I worked on some of the puzzle games, including the final puzzle. Since I had experience working with Flash video due to the various Microsoft product demos I made in the past, I also worked a lot on the video portions of the game. Unlike most hidden-object games, HEE actually tied into the real-life adventures of Ed Viesturs, the famous mountaineer. He contributed a ton of video to the game and provided interviews and actual footage from Mount Everest, so players could learn about the real experience through playing HEE.
The game sold very well. It was the #1 game on many casual game sites, and it spent 4 months in the top 10 at Big Fish Games and 5 months in the top 10 at AOL.
