The original Life Quest was a surprise hit for Big Fish Games. They wanted a bigger, better sequel, so the Vancouver studio released one in March 2012.
This was my first commercial project in which I personally used C++, and also my first commercial project in which Mac OS X was the primary development platform. The entire studio used OS X, but I also used Windows, so I was also responsible for parallel development and testing of the Windows version.
It’s difficult to detail the things I worked on, since the development team shared the responsibilities of almost every component of the game. I created some of the UI elements, such as the item detail windows and the scrollable panels. I also did most of the work on the player status and achievement screens, as well as the end-of-game report. Most of the game was made through team effort, though!
